Centrally located in the North East Wales Business Hub close to the A55 Business Corridor, Wrexham Glyndwr University is committed to supporting Food and Drink Businesses across Wales. Higher Education Study offers full-time and part-time undergraduate and post-graduate studies and industry-led courses in areas including Business Management, Hospitality, Tourism, Nutrition to help ensure that our students are equipped with relevant career skills. Students benefit from close working relationships with local companies including Kelloggs’, KK Fine Foods and Patchwork Pate.
The Horticulture Wales Project is based in WGU. Its focus is to develop short supply chains, reduce single use plastic waste, improve shelf life, sustainability and profit. It will also create a minimum of three Clusters in the food sector.
WGU and Cardiff Metropolitan collaborate on the Food and Drink High Impact Cluster, with WGU leading on the North Wales stream. The objectives are to bring businesses together within the sector to achieve accelerated growth in sales, profit and staff.
